The Trail is a fully digital new site, but has occasionally printed a “Back to Mac” school magazine. The purpose of this magazine was to provide students information they would need for the upcoming school year such as parking permits, new clubs, . For my time on staff, the Trail designed a magazine my sophomore year and it never went to publishing. The summer before my senior year, me and my editorial board decided to bring back the design and make updates as well as our own designs because the previous ones were from graduated staffers. The magazine was published and handed out to the McIntosh community in August of 2025. While I had no knowledge in designing a magazine, my editorial board guided me by teaching me skills such as using margins, color schemes and use of graphics.

Site Design
The Trail started working on a complete site redesign in May of last year. We had made the decision to go from an all dark site to a light site, as well as completely redesigning our masthead. This was a change I wanted to make for a long time because the Trail was growing and had new goals and overall the site just needed a new face. The editorial continuously went back and forth throwing out design ideas and arrangement of story categories on our new site. I worked with HTML coding to space the different areas on our site, a skill I had learned from working with the SNO student academy and practicing with my adviser.
